Manufactured by the brand Systam® Ref. P314C, it is a combination of foam and gel. Its anatomical shape combined with its properties, allow to increase the contact surface with the pillow, resulting in a clear reduction in skin pressure, increasing the stability and comfort of the patient. Ideal for incontinent people, bearing in mind that this pillow is 100% waterproof even without the cover.
Features
- ▪ The combination of high resilience polyurethane foam and cross-linked visco-elastic gel allows pressure to be transferred from high risk areas to less risky ones.
- ▪ The two-layer molding method is carried out in a single mold, so both materials are compatible with each other.
- ▪ The cross-linked visco-elastic gel coupled to the high-resilience polyurethane foam prevents the risk of the trailing phenomenon from occurring (prevents wrinkles and creases).
Indications
- ▪ Indicated for patients in situations with pressure ulcers on the EPUAP Grading Scale from 1 to 2.
- ▪ In situations where there is a high risk of pressure ulcers according to the Braden, Norton, Waterlow tables.
- ▪ It is also advisable for patients who have a history that when they are sitting they are very likely to develop pressure ulcers.
- ▪ Patients who are in situations of paralysis of the lower limbs or spine, reduced frontal stability, slight postural asymmetries, vascular amputation.
Care and Hygiene
- ▪ Do not immerse in water.
- ▪ Clean with a damp cloth.
