Elbow Orthosis for Functional Mobilisation

The Elbow Orthosis for Functional Mobilisation Medi Epico ROMs, manufactured by Medi®, supports the elbow and hand and prevents unwanted rotation of the arm. Flexion and extension can be easily adjusted with the Quick-Set wedges, which guarantees proper mobilisation of the joint. 


Features

  • ▪ Adjustable in extension and flexion in 10º increments between 0º and 120º. So the range of movement can be adapted to therapeutic indications.
  • ▪ Comfort and ease of use with Quick-Set guides
  • ▪ Extendable hand support with soft material for greater comfort of use - even with oedema.
  • ▪ Non-slip, flexible padding for a secure fit on the forearm
  • ▪ High wearing comfort due to low weight
  • ▪ Special corrugated fabric lining the frame aids lymphatic drainage

Effects

  • ▪ Limitation of movement of the elbow joint and immobilisation of the proximal radioulnar joint.
  • ▪ Promotes the recovery process and reduces pain on movement.


Indications

  • ▪ Surgical refixation of central and lateral epicondylitis
  • ▪ Conservative treatment of elbow dislocations
  • ▪ Surgical treatment of elbow fractures
  • ▪ Reconstruction of the ulnar or radial collateral ligaments
  • ▪ Surgical treatment of biceps or triceps rupture
  • ▪ Conservative/post-operative treatment of radial head fractures
  • ▪ Post-operative treatment after prosthesis implantation
  • ▪ Conservative/post-operative treatment of distal humerus fractures

Contraindications

  • ▪ Concomitant neurological damage
  • ▪ Compartment syndrome
