Thumb Total Immobilization Splint
Manufactured by the German brand Juzo ®, contains the base of the thumb with a removable strip, which fixes all the joints of the thumb. The injured continue to be able to pick up objects despite the injured hand.
Characteristics
- Optimum fixation of the carpometacarpal, phalangeal, metacarpalphalangeal and interphalangeal joints.
- Made of transparent and thermoplastically moldable plastic.
- Adaptable to different diameters of the thumb, thanks to a removable strap at the thumb joint.
- Adjustable wrist and thumb strap for fixing the interphalangeal joint.
- Extra comfort during use thanks to the recess in the extensor tendon.
- Washable inner lining, in hypoallergenic material, for greater comfort during use and better stabilization of temperatures.
Indications
- Immobilization of the radial carpal and carpometacarpal joints in rhizarthrosis (arthrosis of the joint of the base of the thumb).
- Arthrosis or arthritis of the radial metacarpal and MP1.
- Radial or ulnar ligament injuries (total or partial) (Skier's thumb).
- Navicular pseudoarthrosis under concomitant therapy for the grip function.
- Distortions (sprains/strains).
- Dislocations (injuries to tendons/joints).
- Post-traumatic/post-surgical immobilization (plaster replacement).
- Partial immobilization of the metacarpal joint.
